Find Your Answers Here

We believe it’s important for you to feel fully informed and confident while making decisions regarding your restoration tattoo. To help, we’ve included commonly asked questions and answers from past clients. If your question isn’t addressed, get in touch and we’ll provide the information you need.

How Long Does It Take?

With each client's unique needs, timings can vary sightly, but on average, a bilateral Areola Tattooing appointment can last 2.5 hours.  A unilateral areola takes approximately 1.5 hours per session. Please bare in mind this time is not spent continuously tattooing.

Does It Hurt?

After undergoing breast surgery, in particular Mastectomy, 90% of our clients do not feel anything at all.  If you do have sensation, it is very unlikely that you will experience more than a simple scratching sensation. If you are concerned that you have hyper-sensitivity, please contact us directly to discuss this further.

How Long Must I Wait After Surgery?

It is vital that your body is fully healed after surgery, before having your Restorative Tattoo.  Usually this can take up to a year, but you should check with your consultant before going ahead.

Can You Tattoo Over Nipple Reconstructive Surgery?

Yes! Whether your nipple protrusion has remained predominant, or you have a subtle area of raised tissue, we can tattoo directly over the area. Not only can we add colour and texture, but more excitingly, with artistic techniques, we can give the illusion that your nipple is even more 3D than it actually is.

Can My Tattoo Be Done Over A Breast Implant?

Yes! It is very common for Restorative Tattooing to be carried out over the top of an implant.  As a Tattoo Artist of 16 years with extensive training in this field, we can offer this procedure safely.  All of our clients receive a pre-treatment consultation before we go ahead, but if you have any concerns prior to this please get in touch.

What is the aftercare procedure?

It is paramount that you follow our aftercare instructions strictly.  Not only does this give your tattoo the best opportunity to stay vibrant and retain the detail, but it is designed to keep your wound protected from infection.  An aftercare package with detailed guidance will be provided with each of your appointments.  Your kit includes hypo-allergenic, breathable dressings, a natural tattoo balm and an aftercare guide.

How Long Will My Tattoo Last?

Your tattoo is permanent, unlike the NHS option.  However, there are a few variables that determine the longevity.  We cannot guarantee how your body will absorb the pigment over time, with each body, each scar and each breast being so different. And external factors such as sun-exposure and your healing process having a huge part to play.  What we can guarantee is a second session where we will assess how your body has settled your tattoo since your first session.  Adding depth and detail over two sessions allows a more gentle approach with long lasting effects. Additional top up sessions are available for a fee.

Can You Tattoo Over Nipple Reconstructive Surgery?

Yes! Whether your nipple protrusion has remained predominant, or you have a subtle area of raised tissue, we can tattoo directly over the area. Can You Match My Existing Nipple After Unilateral Mastectomy?

Yes! Terri is a lifelong artist with a passion for realism. Her training as an artist, teamed with 16 years as a tattoo artist make the level of realism world class.  When it comes to tattooing a portrait of your existing nipple, you are in the best hands.
